USDA maintains Kazakhstan's wheat export forecast for 2023-2024 at 10.5 mln tonnes

ALMATY. Aug 13 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture has maintained its forecast for Kazakhstan's wheat exports at 10.5 million tonnes for the current agricultural year July 2024 to June 2025, the USDA said in its August review.

In July, the wheat export forecast for Kazakhstan was also set at 10.5 million tonnes.

The import forecast, however, has been lowered from 2 million tonnes to 1 million tonnes.

As of August 1, 2024, carryover grain stocks are estimated at 2.83 million tonnes.

Wheat production in Kazakhstan is expected to reach 16 million tonnes this agricultural year, up from the 14.5 million tonnes projected in July.
