Moscow Exchange to introduce marking of "green" bonds by year's end
MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The Moscow Exchange will begin marking bonds in the sustainable development sector before the end of 2024, adding the letter "S" to their ticker, the exchange's senior managing director, Yelena Kuritsyna said.
"We chose the English letter 'S' to mark green bonds. Changes will be made to the trading system by the end of the year so that the marking is retransmitted to broker apps as is the case now with securities from the RII [Innovation and Investment Market]," Kuritsyna told reporters on Tuesday.
The exchange's plans to mark green bonds were first reported at the beginning of July. Kuritsyna told Interfax at the time that the exchange was choosing between the letters "E" (environment) and "S" (sustainability) to mark such bonds.
There are currently 34 bond issues from 16 issuers totalling 397.6 billion rubles trading in the Moscow Exchange's sustainable development sector.
