FAO announces tender to supply firewood for Ukrainian villagers
MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax) - The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has announced the launch of a tender for implementing a voucher program for the supply of firewood to rural residents in several Ukrainian regions, Ukrainian media reported, citing the FAO press service.
In total, 800 rural families from the Chernigov, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Nikolayev and Sumy regions, as well as those living in the Kiev-controlled territories of Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions can receive the assistance, which is being provided with France's financial support, it said.
Each selected family will be able to receive a physical or electronic voucher for a certain amount of money, for which they can purchase firewood for home heating.
To be eligible to join in the tender, the supplier should have an assortment of chopped firewood, have the required infrastructure, well-knit logistics for storage and delivery of goods, and operate in those areas where the FAO's initiative will be implemented.
The deadline for submitting an application for the tender is August 9, 2024. As reported, suppliers need to be registered with the UN Global Marketplace (UNGM) to join in the tenders.
