Ukraine's Nibulon delivers first shipment of grain to Egypt via Danube in 2024
MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Ukraine's leading grain market operator, Nibulon, has delivered the first shipment of Ukrainian grain to Egypt in 2024 under a tender announced by the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), a Egyptian government agency, Ukrainian media reported with reference to Nibulon's statement on its social account.
The company is shipping grain to Egypt via the Danube Grain Corridor, fully using the logistic capabilities of Transport Trade Services (TTS), with which it has extended a contract for another season.
Nibulon was founded in 1991. Before the crisis, it owned 27 transshipment terminals and centers for receiving crops, storage facilities with combined capacity of 2.25 million tonnes, and a fleet of 83 vessels (including 23 tugboats). The company also owned the Nikolayev Shipyard.
Nibulon cultivated 82,000 hectares of land in 12 regions of Ukraine and exported agricultural products to over 70 countries. Its agrifood exports peaked at 5.64 million tonnes in 2021, with all-time high export shipments of 0.7 million tonnes in August 2021, 1.88 million tonnes in Q4 2021, and 3.71 million tonnes in H2 2021.
The company now operates at 32% of capacity and has moved its headquarters from Nikolayev to Kiev.
