Fodder barley prices in Ukraine rise by $5-$7 per tonne over past week - analysts
MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - Fodder barley has begun to become more expensive at Ukrainian ports since the beginning of last week, the price for which has already increased by $5-$7 per tonne to $162-$172 per tonne on CPT-port terms, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement of the APK-Inform information and analytical agency.
"The amount of supply for the grain of the new harvest remains insufficient due to restrained sales by agricultural producers and high demand from importers. The related wheat market provided additional support for prices," analysts said.
The demand prices for fodder barley at the Odessa ports rose by $5-$7 per tonne and is within a range of $162-$172 per tonne on CPT-port terms as of July 29. At the same time, the demand prices at the Danube ports rose by $1-$3 per tonne to $163-$171 per tonne on CPT-port terms, the agency said.
