Kazakhstan cuts automobile output 14.6% in H1
ASTANA. July 24 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan produced 62,435 automobiles in H1 2024, down 14.6% year-on-year, the Association of Kazakhstan's Automotive Business (AKAB) said in a statement.
Output was 814.4 billion tenge in value.
Of all vehicles produced in the reporting period, 38,691 were assembled in Kostanay by Allur, down 12.5% year-on-year; 19,330 light-duty and commercial vehicles were manufactured in Almaty by Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan and Hyundai Trans Auto, down 22.4%; 2,528 commercial vehicles in Semey by SemAZ and Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan, up 17%; 644 vehicles in the Karaganda region by QazTehna, up 45%; and 415 commercial vehicles in Kokshetau by KAMAZ-Engineering, down 24.8%.
Kazakhstan produced the Chevrolet Cobalt (10,534 units), Hyundai Tucson (10,235), Kia Sportage (5,769), Jac J7 (3,192) and Jetour X70 (2,940) models.
The Association of Kazakhstan's Automotive Business, a non-profit organization, was founded in 2010 as an association of official dealers, importers, distributors of Kazakhstan's automotive market.
