Kazakh Finance Ministry buys 12% of Kazatomprom shares from Samruk-Kazyna using Nat'l Fund
ASTANA. July 23 (Interfax) - The Kazakh National Bank and the Samruk-Kazyna company completed an over-the-counter transaction to purchase Kazatomprom shares for the National Fund on July 20, Kazatomprom said in a press release on Tuesday.
"The transaction resulted in Samruk-Kazyna's stake decreasing from 75% to 62.99336549%," the press release said.
The Kazakh Central Securities Depository data shows that the 12% stake sold by Samruk-Kazyna now belongs to the Kazakh Finance Ministry, it said.
"Kazatomprom's free float has not been affected and remains at 25% with a dual listing at the London Stock Exchange and Astana International Exchange," the press release said.
Current Kazatomprom's shareholders are Samruk-Kazyna National Wealth Fund with roughly 63% of shares, the Finance Ministry with 12%, and free float of 25%.
