IMF changes Ukraine representative in staff rotation
MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - The International Monetary Fund has appointed the Italian, Priscilla Toffano, as its permanent representative in Ukraine, Ukrainian media reported, citing the IMF Ukrainian office.
"From August 1 of this year, she will replace Vahram Stepanyan in this capacity, who returns to the IMF central office after three years in this position," the press release said.
Tofano has been working at the IMF since 2013.
"The change of permanent representatives is an established practice at the IMF to ensure rotation of its staff," the IMF said.
According to open source data, Tofano worked at the IMF as an economist from September 2013 to May 2023, after which she was promoted to senior economist. She was also a PhD Intern at the European Central Bank and the Bank of England in 2011-2012, and a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics in 2017-2019.
