Inflation in Belarus 0.6% in June, 3.4% YTD
MINSK. July 11 (Interfax) - Consumer prices in Belarus rose 0.6% in June, national statistics agency Belstat said.
Inflation quickened from 0.1% in May. It was 0.4% in April and 0.5% in March.
There was 3.4% inflation for January-June.
Annual inflation was 5.8% in June and 5.7% in May, and core inflation before was 0.6% in June.
Food prices rose 0.8% in June and 3.7% in January-June, non-food prices rose 0.4% and 2.5%, respectively, and service charges rose 0.5% and 4%.
Inflation in Belarus slowed to 5.8% in 2023 from 12.8% in 2022 and 10% in 2021.
The government is targeting not more than 6% inflation in 2024.
Belarus continues to regulate prices for almost all goods in the consumer basket, as well as for basic services.
