Ukrainian border service reports preventing attempt to smuggle violin possibly made by Stradivari
MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Ukrainian border service officers have curbed an attempt to take a violin possibly made by Antonio Stradivari out of the country, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the State Border Service's social media post.
"Border guards discovered an antique musical instrument labeled Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1713, which might be of historical value, in the trunk of a car at a border checkpoint with Romania. Customs officials have seized the violin and forwarded it to experts for an examination," it said.
