S. Korea bans exports of over 240 products to Russia, Belarus

HONG KONG. June 28 (Interfax) - The South Korean Industry Ministry added 243 products to the list of goods prohibited from being exported to Russia and Belarus because of their possible military use on Friday.

For instance, metal cutting equipment, optical device parts and sensors have been added to the ministry's list, which currently comprises 1,402 products, the Yonhap news agency said.

Despite the ban on exports to Russia and Belarus, the government may approve shipments in individual cases if the deals were concluded before today.

The new rules will take effect by the end of August upon the completion of related procedures.
