Uzbek authorities to grant tax concessions for poultry farming development
TASHKENT. June 26 (Interfax) - Promising projects in the sphere of poultry farming and concessions for its development as well as a proposal on developing other animal farming sectors have been discussed at a meeting chaired by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbek media reported on Wednesday.
"Additional possibilities for supporting poultry farming have been determined. In accordance with this, the industry's enterprises will be exempt from the land tax for five years. Poultry exports will be allowed," the reports said.
It was stated that 253 projects were implemented in the poultry sector in 2023, the number of such farms reached 1,300, and 4,000 new jobs were created. Plans are in place to attract $420 million from international organizations and banks for promising projects. It is planned that genetic technologies will be introduced in poultry and pedigree farms will be set up in collaboration with foreign companies.
The meeting also addressed proposals to introduce a cluster system in the poultry sector, and to develop prepared business projects and to provide them to entrepreneurs.
The meeting's participants discussed measures to increase the number of Karakul sheep from six million to seven million, as well as pedigree work in goat farming.
