Foreign tourists brought $3.5 bln to Russia in 2023 - deputy PM
MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - Foreign tourists brought $3.5 billion to Russia and the flow of tourists grew by one million people in 2023, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said.
"The inflow of foreign tourists to our country grew by more than one million in 2023. They brought in approximately $3.5 billion. But we want much more," Chernyshenko said at the government's strategic meeting addressing national tourism and economic projects on Tuesday.
Chernyshenko said previously than 3.8 million foreign tourists visited Russia in 2023. Inbound tourism is expected to grow by 30% to 5 million people in 2024, he said.
