Denmark to allocate DKK 150 mln to support Ukraine's, Moldova's integration into Europe

MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - The Danish government has decided to allocate 150 million Danish kroner ($21 million) by 2030 to support the integration into Europe by Ukraine and Moldova.

"The government of Denmark is allocating DKK 150 million to support these countries [Ukraine and Moldova] on their path to EU membership. The DKK 150 million will be made available by 2030 and will help the two countries create administrative institutions and legislation necessary to move closer to EU membership," Ukrainian media quoted the Danish Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement.

The funds will be provided under Denmark's Good Neighbor Program, also supporting educational trips and civil education in Ukraine.

Such support will also be provided to the Western Balkans candidate countries for EU membership in the longer term, it said.

Luxembourg on Tuesday is due to host the first intergovernmental conferences to give a start to EU accession talks for Ukraine and Moldova.
