Restoration Ministry orders all trucks back to Ukraine from EU to update documents
MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Carriers operating under the European Union-Ukraine road transport agreement will have to return all trucks to Ukraine before July 10 to update their documents in accordance with the new requirements.
"All trucks should return to Ukraine before July 10 in order to subsequently exit with updated documents and labeling," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Deputy Restoration Minister Sergei Derkach as saying in a statement on social media on Monday.
The new provisions require carriers to have a certified English-language copy of their license, shipping documents for unladen trucks and vehicle labeling, Derkach said.
As reported earlier, the EU-Ukraine agreement on the carriage of freight by road, initially due to expire on June 30, 2024, has been extended until June 30, 2025, with tacit renewal for another period of six months, "unless one of the parties disagrees and has solid and clear evidence that there is a major disturbance of its road transport market."
The updated accord introduced a safeguard clause allowing suspension of the agreement in specific geographical areas if a road transport market in this area experiences major disturbances.
