Jysk opens largest store in western Ukraine
MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - The JYSK international household goods retailer chain has opened a new store in the XL format in the Podolyany shopping mall in Ukraine's Ternopol, Ukrainian media outlets said with a reference to the retailer's press service.
"The opening of 17 new JYSK stores is planned in 12 European countries in June. We opened two new stores in Ukraine this month," the press service quoted JYSK Country Director for Ukraine Yevgeny Ivanitsa as saying.
The new store is the second one in Ternopol, its retail space is 1,238 square meters, warehouse is 410 square meters, and a separate office space is 51 square meters. The new store in Ternopol was built using the 3.0 concept envisaging a better spot lighting, a more modern look and a zonal arrangement of goods more comfortable for customers.
A total of 97 JYSK stores and the jysk.ua online shop currently operate in Ukraine. It is planned to reach the mark of 100 by the end of 2024. The candidate cities where the 100th store would be opened have been preliminarily determined, it would be either Kalush or Krivoi Rog as early as in August.
The JYSK staff in Ukraine includes over 800 employees.
JYSK is a part of the family-owned Lars Larsen Group running over 3,400 stores in 48 countries.
JYSK's revenues stood at 5.2 billion euros in the 2022-2023 financial year.
