Ferry service to resume between Ukraine and Georgia

MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - Odessa-based Ukrferry shipping company is resuming ferry service along the Chernomorsk-Batumi route as of July 9, Ukrainian media reported, citing the schedule of trips on the company's website.

The schedule indicates the departure of the Kaunas ferry on July 9 at 8 p.m. from the port of Chernomorsk and arrival at the port of Batumi expected in 60 hours on July 12 at 9 a.m.

The ferry trip is envisaged to depart from the ports weekly.

Built in 1989 in Germany, the Kaunas ferry is a 190-meter-long and 28-meter-wide cargo-passenger vessel. The ferry has 250 passenger seats in cabins of different classes. Two cargo decks can simultaneously take on board 49 universal railway cars and 50 heavy trucks.

The company warns that the dates and times of departure and arrival of the vessel are subject to change both before the start of the voyage and during the voyage.

There have not been any sea vessel trips between Ukraine and Georgia since February 2022.
