Zelensky discusses food security with Kenyan, Ivory Coast presidents, Ukraine establishes diplomatic relations with Palau
MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto discussed setting up hubs for Ukrainian grain at African ports, Ukrainian media outlets said, citing Zelensky's statement on social media overnight into Sunday.
Zelensky said that Ruto and he discussed food security, which is crucial to both Ukraine and Kenya, the development of the two countries' relations and projects in agricultural exports.
They also discussed Kenya's possible participation in creating hubs for Ukrainian grain at African ports.
According to media reports, Zelensky also met with Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara on the sidelines of the Ukraine conference in Switzerland.
Zelensky and Ouattara agreed to continue contacts between their countries at different levels, focusing on food security.
Zelensky also held a meeting with Republic of Palau President Surangel Whipps Jr.
In addition, a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Palau was signed by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and Director of the Palauan Bureau of Domestic Affairs Eunice Akiwo in the presence of the two presidents, Ukrainian media said, citing Zelensky's Office.
