Norway to provide $100 mln to Ukraine to restore energy infrastructure

BRUSSELS. June 17 (Interfax) - The Norwegian authorities will provide $103 million to Ukraine to restore its energy infrastructure and ensure power supply before winter, Western media reported on Sunday, quoting Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store.

"We are in close dialogue with Ukraine on how it can use these funds most effectively," he said.

Store said it was important to begin infrastructure repairs before winter arrives. Of the total amount, $11.2 million will be spent on repairs in Kharkov region, with plans to install solar panels in several locations.

Norway provided $196 million to Ukraine to support the energy sector in 2022 and $177 million in 2023.

Oslo had previously promised $7 billion to aid Ukraine in military and humanitarian spheres from 2023 to 2027.
