MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax) - Ukrainian ports transshipped 8.26 million tonnes of cargo as of the end of May, including 6.7 million tonnes of cargo transshipped by Black Sea ports, Ukrainian media said, citing the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).

"As of the end of May 2024, Ukrainian seaports processed 8.26 million tonnes of cargo, which is almost twice as much as in the respective period of 2023," USPA said on a social network.

The Ukrainian maritime corridor handled 6.7 million tonnes of cargo, including 4.5 million tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products, in May.

Most of the cargo were grains and ore that totaled 5.3 million tonnes versus 3.5 million tonnes and 1.5 million tonnes versus 241,000 tonnes in 2023, respectively.

As reported, Ukrainian seaports transshipped 45.8 million tonnes of cargo in January-May 2024, or almost twice as much as last year.

Fifty million tonnes of cargo have been transported through the Black Sea maritime corridor unilaterally declared by Kiev over ten months of its operation.
