EBRD to provide 300 mln euros to support Ukraine's energy sector - Ukrainian prime minister

MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will accumulate 300 million euros for supporting Ukraine's energy sector, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"Signed a relevant memorandum with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso today," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on social media.

The funds will be used to help state energy companies to restore power generation facilities and infrastructure and to build a new decentralized power generation system, he said.

"This support will help us attain our goal of ensuring stable and uninterrupted power supply for the whole of Ukrainian territory," he said.

Since the start of the crisis, the EBRD has provided 4 billion euros in financing for Ukraine, he said.
