Japan might open its market to Ukrainian poultry meat - ambassador

MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - Japan is considering the possibility of opening Asian markets to Ukrainian agrarian products, particularly chicken meat, Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori said at a meeting with acting Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Taras Vysotsky.

"Ambassador Matsuda Kuninori said Japan confirmed its delegation's participation in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, URC2024, to be held in Berlin on June 11-12, 2024. Japan will arrange a roundtable dealing with Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation in the agricultural sector," Ukrainian media reported citing the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's statement.

Vysotsky thanked Japan for its consistent support for Ukraine and described the plans to open Asian markets to Ukrainian agrifood as an important step for developing bilateral relations and promoting business.
