Unigreen Energy to commission 60 MW solar power plant in Astrakhan region in Q3 - authorities
ASTRAKHAN. June 3 (Interfax) - Unigreen Energy LLC plans to put the Bogdinskaya solar power plant (SPP) into operation with a capacity of 60 MW in the Akhtubinsky district of the Astrakhan region in the third quarter of this year, the press service of the regional governor reported.
"60 MW is the first power plant. It will be put into operation in the third quarter of this year. At the end of the year, we plan to begin construction of another power plant of greater capacity in the Akhtubinsky district," the Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy of the Astrakhan Region Ilya Volynsky said in a statement.
In total it is planned to build several solar power plants in the region by 2028 with a total capacity of up to 350 MW. Investments in the project were not released.
The company is building stations as part of an agreement signed between the Astrakhan region and Unigreen Energy at the Russia international exhibition and forum in Moscow in December 2023.
The Astrakhan region is one of Russia's leading regions in terms of the volume of alternative electricity produced. There are 12 solar power plants with a total installed capacity of about 285 MW and a wind farm with a capacity of 340.2 MW. The volume of energy generated by renewable energy facilities at the end of 2023 was 1.351 billion kWh, which is 33.6% of the total exergy volume generated in the Astrakhan region.
Unigreen Energy works in the field of renewable energy. The company Implements renewable energy projects in Africa, the CIS, Asia and Latin America. The portfolio of projects for the construction of renewable generation exceeds 1.5 GW. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, 99.98% of the shares in the LLC are owned by Ecoinnovations LLC, which is owned by Mikhail Sivoldaev.
