Donors confirm delivery of most of gas-piston cogeneration units, modular boilers required by Kharkov - restoration ministry
MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Ukraine's donors have confirmed the delivery of most of gas-piston cogeneration units and modular boilers required by Kharkov, Natalya Khotsyanivskaya, director of the Ukrainian Restoration Ministry's utilities services department, said on Thursday.
"Out of the 37 declared gas-piston cogeneration units, USAID [the United States Agency for International Development] has confirmed 17 and UNICEF [the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund] six, and negotiations with potential donors concerning five others are underway. Out of the 30 modular boiler plants required by the city's infrastructure organizations, donors have confirmed 17, and negotiations are underway on two more," Ukrainian media quoted Khotsyanivskaya as saying at an online conference held by the relevant subcommittee of the Verkhovna Rada's Energy Committee dealing with the fuel and energy sector's preparations for the 2024-2025 heating season.
While the Restoration Ministry had no negotiations with donors regarding supplies of equipment to local communications, it is planning to address the matter and obtain information as to what equipment donors can provide in a few days, she said.
"The ministry sees the provision of backup thermal and power generation equipment as the absolutely correct way," Khotsyanivskaya said.
