Spain to provide 1 bln euros in support for Ukraine
MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - Spain will provide 1 billion euros in assistance to Ukraine under a security agreement signed in Madrid on Monday, Ukrainian media covering President Vladimir Zelensky's visit to Madrid cited Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez as saying at a press briefing after the signing ceremony.
"This is a treaty on the future, this is an example of our determination to provide Ukraine with all instruments to ensure Ukraine's stability. We see security as an integrated matter. That is why, there are several areas - financial, military, production between Ukraine and Spain, support, restoration, recovery. These are the aspects that are covered by the treaty. Spain has provided extensive support over these two years and pledges 1 billion euros in further support to bolster Ukraine's attempt," Sanchez said.
