Russia, Bahrain to cooperate in healthcare sector - memorandum

MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - The Russian health minister and the Bahraini foreign minister have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation between the two countries in the healthcare sector, including trade in medications, aide to the Russian health minister Alexei Kuznetsov said.

"Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, signed a memorandum of understanding between the health ministries of Russia and the Kingdom of Bahrain at the Kremlin today," Kuznetsov told journalists on Thursday.

The parties intend to develop bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector with respect to primary medical and sanitary help, prevention and control of infectious and non-infectious diseases, the implementation of digital technology in healthcare, the circulation of medications and medical items, healthcare research, and medical education and the retraining of specialists.
