Ukraine's Ukrenergo to purchase platform trucks using IBRD's funds

MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Ukrenergo company is planning to purchase 84 aerial work platform trucks worth $15.6 million, excluding VAT, using the funds of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).

According to the information on the Prozorro website, the tender was announced on April 30, and the disclosure of tender offers is slated for June 13, 2024. The specification period is continuing until May 30.

The deadline for deliveries of equipment is July 31, 2025.

The tender is divided into four lots, namely, the first one of 14 sets on 6x6 chassis, including eight sets with the lift height of 45 meters and six sets with the lift height of 37 meters, totaling $4.25 million, the second one of ten sets on 4x4 chassis with the lift height of 32 meters totaling $2.35 million and two lots comprising 30 sets of aerial work platform trucks on 4x4 chassis with the lift height of 22 meters totaling $4.5 million each, 30 for the western and northern regions and another 30 for the southern and eastern regions.

The tender envisages an advance payment of 40%.

The price is listed as the criterion for the selection of the winner by 100%.

Verkhovna Rada Committee for Economic Policy deputy head Dmitry Kisilevsky, for his part, described this tender as "shameful" due to the absence of a mandatory requirement of 20% of domestic components in the purchased hardware in the tender's documents.

"The Ukrenergo state company has announced a shameful tender worth an enormous amount of money, 618 million hryvni, to purchase trucks. Ukrenergo 'forgot' to add the mandatory requirement of 20% of domestic components to the tender documents. It causes direct harm to the state, because it fraudulently creates conditions to support foreign manufacturers, rather than Ukrainian," the parliamentarian said.
