Ukrainian agricultural holding IMC has completed the sowing season, sowing 90,000 hectares with corn and sunflower
MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - Ukrainian agricultural holding IMC has completed its 2024 spring sowing campaign to which it allocated 90,000 hectares, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement on the company's website.
Sunflower was sown on 24,200 hectares, and corn on 65,800 hectares.
"This year, the sowing of spring crops began as planned, on April 10. However, just during the first week of the sowing campaign, we had to stop for 10 days due to unfavorable weather conditions (precipitation, low temperatures). We were able to fully restore sowing only at the end April," IMC Operations Director Alexander Verzhikhovsky said.
Most of the areas have already received seedlings; the agricultural holding expects to meet the planned yield targets, the statement said.
IMC is an integrated group of companies operating in the field of crop production. The company's land bank is about 120,000 hectares.
