NIZHNY NOVGOROD. May 21 (Interfax) - Russia is due to begin serial production of Atom electric vehicles in 2025, Kamaz General Director Sergei Kogogin told Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Mishustin visited the Rosatom and Kamaz booths, which present an operating system for the innovative Atom electric vehicle, at the Digitalization of Industrial Russia conference on Tuesday.
"When will serial production begin?" Mishustin asked at the booth.
"In 2025," Kogogin replied.
"We are looking forward to it. Especially if it uses Russian software," Mishustin said.
Mishustin was told that not only individuals but also taxi and car sharing services were interested in the vehicle.
In turn, Rosatom head Alexei Likhachev told Mishustin about SARUS, a technologically independent system for managing the full life cycle of products for industrial enterprises. It runs on the Russian geometric kernel, an import-independent operating system.
"We plan to begin industrial operation of the platform in 2027," Likhachev said.
