Unistream resumes transfers to Georgia - media

TBILISI. May 17 (Interfax) - Russia's Unistream payment system has resumed operating in Georgia, vestikavkaza.ru reported on Thursday, citing the deputy head of the company's executive board, Yulia Kaverina.

"It is now possible to transfer money from Russia to Georgia using the Unistream payment system. [...] Upon resumption of money transfers, it is now simpler for Georgians residing in Russia to support their family and loved ones financially," Kaverina said during a meeting of the Russia-Georgia business council for the development of economic relations.

The majority of banks in Georgia halted operations with the Unistream payment system last summer.
