Magnit replaces CEO with head of agriculture division Sluchevsky

MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Magnit, one of Russia's largest retailers, has announced the replacement of CEO Anna Meleshina with Yevgeny Sluchevsky, the director of its agriculture and industry division.

Meleshina will remain at the company and continue to serve as managing director and management board member, Magnit said in a press release.

Prior to joining Magnit in 2022, Sluchevsky worked at Rusagro, where he managed the group's meat business. In 2016-2019, he served as managing director of food company Integra. He has also worked at McKinsey & Company, where he carried out a number of projects for Russian companies in the retail, food production, agribusiness and other sectors.

Magnit is Russia's largest retailer by number of stores and second largest by revenue. The company had 29,165 stores at the end of 2023.
