Russian AgMin thinking of limiting flower imports from unfriendly countries - ministerial candidate
MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - The Russian Agriculture Ministry is thinking of limiting flower imports from unfriendly countries, Oksana Luth, who has been nominated for agriculture minister, said in the State Duma on Tuesday.
"We, together with the Economic Development Ministry, are now looking at customs and tariff regulation measures to limit imports of flowers from unfriendly countries, this we can do," she said, answering questions from deputies.
Luth said flower growers would be supported as much as possible "by our internal capabilities." Despite the fact that this sector "is not a food security issue, state support is still provided," Luth said.
"We have preferential loans to build greenhouses for long terms corresponding to payback periods," she said.
