One crossing on Russian-Polish border to suspend operations

KALININGRAD. March 20 (Interfax) - The Mamonovo 2-Grzechotki international vehicle crossing on the Russian-Polish border in the Kaliningrad region will suspend its operations, the regional governor's press secretary Dmitry Lyskov said.

"We have received information that the Mamonovo 2-Grzechotki border crossing will stop functioning at 9:00 a.m. today. The Polish side will stop accepting cars. This is due to the protests of Polish farmers, who blocked the road on their territory. We ask everyone to take this into account while planning trips," Lyskov said.

The border crossing will stay closed until the protests end, he said. At the same time, Lyskov could not provide any information regarding bus services between Kaliningrad and Polish and German cities that use Mamonovo-2.

Meanwhile, the information service of Kaliningrad Bus Station told Interfax that "we have no information on the suspension of this checkpoint's operations. We are working as usual."

Only two crossings on the Russian-Polish border, Mamonovo 2-Grzechotki and Bagrationovsk-Bezledy, currently remain open. No information on the possible temporary closure of the latter is currently available.
