Central Bank of Armenia keeps refinancing rate at 6.75% per annum

YEREVAN. Sept 16 (Interfax) - The board of the Central Bank of Armenia has decided to keep the refinancing rate at 6.75% per annum, according to a statement from the regulator.

The rate of 6.75% has been in effect since February 4, when it was lowered by 0.25 percentage points (p.p.). The board has kept the rate unchanged following its scheduled meeting for the fifth consecutive time.

In 2024, the regulator lowered the rate eight times.

According to data from the country's statistical committee, inflation in Armenia was 0.3% in 2024 against a target of 4% plus or minus 1.5 p.p. Annual inflation reached 3.6% in August 2025.

The state budget for 2025 projects the average annual inflation at 3.5%.
