Ukraine to get 100-mln-euro loan from CEB for e-Restoration project

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - Ukraine will get a 100-million-euro loan from the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) for the e-Restoration project, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Restoration Minister Alexander Kubrakov said.

"Additional 100 million euros for compensations for damaged homes from the Council of Europe Development Bank. The Bank Administrative Council has made the respective decision. Negotiations on signing a framework loan agreement are ongoing. That would be sufficient for issuing over 2,000 housing certificates to Ukrainians," Ukrainian media quoted Kubrakov as saying on a social network.

As reported, the CEB Administrative Council approved the HOME project at a meeting on March 25-26, and provided 100 million euros to Ukraine on its basis.

The e-Restoration program kicked off in Ukraine on May 10, 2023, and owners of damaged homes started receiving compensations of up to 200,000 hryvni. The money could be spent on buying building materials, paying for construction work and services of contractors who have the appropriate work codes and whose vendors have applied for the program through the Diia portal. In December, payments began for major repairs of damaged residences in the maximum amount of 350,000 hryvni per apartment and 500,000 hryvni per private house. From January 1, 2024, Ukrainians who repaired homes at their own expense will begin to receive compensation for damaged housing.

Diia started accepting applications for destroyed home compensations on August 1, 2023. The issuance of housing certificates began on Diia on December 27, 2023. Over 11,000 applications have been submitted since the launch of the state program, and 1,637 Ukrainian families have bought new homes with a total cost of 3.4 billion hryvni since January.
