Set included in list of terrorist organizations - FSB
MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - The community Set was recognized as a terrorist organization, included in the unified Federal Security Service list and is banned on the territory of Russia.
The community Set is now Number 30 on the unified federal list of organizations, including foreign and international, recognized as terrorist in accordance with the Russian legislation.
The list was posted on the official website of the Russian Federal Security Service on Monday.
According to the report, the community Set was recognized as terrorist by the Moscow District Military Court on January 17, 2019.
The court decision took effect on March 14.
On January 17, the Moscow District Military Court sentenced Igor Shishkin, a member of the anarchist terrorist organization, who had made a deal with the investigators, to 3.5 years in prison at an ad hoc meeting in St. Petersburg.
Shishkin, who had made a deal with the investigators, was found guilty of committing crimes enshrined by the article dealing with "Participation in a terrorist community." He was sentenced to 3.5 years in a general-security penal colony.
On March 23, the Moscow District Military Court considered a motion for special proceedings in the trial of the case involving industrial climber Yuliy Boyarshinov, who had admitted participation in the terrorist community Set and storage of explosives. The motion was declined. Viktor Filinkov was also implicated in the terrorist community Set.
According to the investigators, the men joined the community "to engage in terrorist activity and to promote, justify and support terrorism."
