Kyiv court can't hear Kolomoisky lawsuit seeking PrivatBank nationalization due to bomb scare

KYIV. Oct 17 (Interfax) - A report stating there was a bomb in the Kyiv Economic Court, which came at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, prevented the court from commencing the legal debate, the last stage of the trial of the lawsuit filed by former PrivatBank (Kyiv) shareholders Ihor Kolomoisky and Triantal Investments over violations in the course of the bank's nationalization and the return of shares by it, which was due to take place at 10:30 a.m.

Inspections are being conducted in the court and no one is allowed to enter its territory, an Interfax correspondent reported.

"There has been an anonymous phone call about a bomb on the premises of the Kyiv Economic Court. A police group of investigators and operatives, police with dogs, and bomb disposal experts have left for the scene," a statement on the court website said.

The staff and visitors have been evacuated from the courtroom, the statement said. Information on the court's resumption of its work will come later.
