Russia willing to sell Su-35 fighter aircraft to Turkey - FSMTC chief (Part 2)
DUBAI. Nov 17 (Interfax) - Russia is willing to sell Sukhoi Su-35 multirole fighter aircraft to Turkey if the latter is interested in this, Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Director Dmitry Shugayev said.
"Russia stands ready to consider the deliveries of Su-35 fighters to Turkey if the Turkish side displays an interest in this military product," Shugayev told journalists at the Dubai Airshow on Sunday.
Russia had exhibited the Su-35 to Turkish specialists at an airshow in Istanbul, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) said in September.
The Su-35 is assembled at the Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant (a Sukhoi affiliate) in the Khabarovsk territory.
The Su-35 has been developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. This is a 4++ generation highly-advanced supermaneuverable multirole fighter. The Su-35 features some 5th generation technology ensuring its superiority over planes of analogous class.
The Su-35's special features include new digital avionics integrating the onboard systems, a new radar station with an adaptive phased array capable of detecting and intercepting simultaneously a larger number of aerial targets at a larger range, and new engines with increased thrust and thrust-vectoring capabilities.
