Ex-Defense Minister Serdyukov gives new testimony showing his innocence - lawyer
MOSCOW. March 12 (Interfax) - Former Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov gave new testimony to investigators regarding a criminal case concerning the construction of a road toward the Zhitnoye holiday center on Tuesday, Serdyukov's defense lawyer Genrikh Padva told Interfax.
"There was questioning, it ended only recently, it lasted for five hours, and the investigators fit everything on 11 pages," Padva said.
"We initiated the questioning ourselves. Anatoly Eduardovich [Serdyukov] wished to add something to his earlier testimony," Padva said.
The defense team is not planning any changes either in the defense tactics or in Serdyukov's position, Padva said. "This is absolute nonsense. On the contrary, the testimony Serdyukov gave today rule out his involvement in any irregularities," he said.
No more meetings between Serdyukov and investigators are expected in the near future, Padva said.
