Armenian PM satisfied with voting process in presidential elections

YEREVAN. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The presidential elections in Armenia are being held without any major incidents, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said.

"The election process is calm. All reports and proposals are being studied and are at the center of our attention," Sargsyan told reporters after the voting.

The law enforcement agencies will do everything needed within their powers to ensure that "no doubts are left about the legality, fairness, and transparency of elections."

The presidential race in Armenia includes incumbent president and chairman of the ruling Republican Party Serzh Sargsyan, former prime minister and leader of the opposition Freedom party Grant Bagratyan, former foreign minister and leader of the opposition Heritage party Raffi Ovannisyan, leader of the opposition National Self-Determination party Paruir Airikyan, former foreign minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikyan, political analyst Andrias Gukasyan and epos expert Vardan Sedrakyan. Aram Arutyunyan, the presidential candidate and leader of the National Conciliation party, withdrew his candidacy on February 8.
