KEMEROVO. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Rescuers have discovered the bodies of four miners who were reported missing after the accident in mine #7 in Prokopyevsk district of Kemerovo region, the regional department of the Emergency Situations' Ministry reported on Sunday.

"The bodies will be retrieved to surface during the day," the report says.

This means that the death toll of the January 20 accident reached eight.

In the morning of January 20 the emergency services of the region received a signal about smoke in mine #7 of SUEK-Kuzbass company. At the time 77 people were underground, and 69 of them returned to the surface. Four people died and four more remained underground. A crisis center led by governor Aman Tuleyev was set up.

Investigative bodies launched a criminal case of the violation of safety norms in mining causing the death of two or more people. The four victims were identified as shaft miners aged 27-45.
