Turkmenistan, India discuss priority avenues for cooperation
ASHGABAT. Jan 24 (Interfax) - The fourth meeting of the Turkmen-Indian intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific, and technological cooperation has taken place in New Delhi.
The Turkmen Foreign Affairs Ministry says on its website that during the meeting a wide range of issues concerning partnership between the two countries was discussed. The parties discussed in detail the current state of and prospects for working together in a number of key areas, including such fields as energy, transport and communications, trade, information technology, science, education, and culture.
During its visit to India, the Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov had meetings with India's president, foreign minister, and oil and natural gas minister. There were also a number of meetings at the expert level between representatives of the two countries' state agencies responsible for issues of foreign economic ties, civil aviation, and other areas.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has given an interview to Interfax ahead of his visit to Russia on May 16-19 in which he speaks about the goals of his visit, pressing tasks that the UN face, the organization‘s reform, as well as topical issues on the international agenda, including situation in Syria and the Middle East settlement.
