Bolshoi Theater denies reports that its Art Director Filin may lose eyesight
MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Bolshoi Theater has denied reports in which some media outlets alleged that Sergei Filin, the art director of the theater's ballet company, has completely lost eyesight after an acid attack.
"Sergei underwent surgery on his eyes today, which passed successfully, and he has been transferred to an intensive care unit, as is always done after surgery. There is no threat of total eyesight loss," it said.
It was reported earlier on Friday that an unknown man had sprayed acid in Filin's face near his apartment. Filin was hospitalized in the burns center of Moscow Hospital 36.
