Kyrgyz special services seize large batch of hashish
BISHKEK. Jan 8 (Interfax) - A large batch of Afghan drugs intended from Russia has been seized in Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyzstan's State National Security Committee told Interfax on Tuesday.
The drugs seizure was part of a joint operation with Tajik colleagues to shut a drug smuggling channel from Tajikistan to Russia across Kyrgyzstan.
"Fifty-five hashish packages made in Afghanistan and weighing 28 kilograms were discovered in a hiding place in a car," the Kyrgyz State National Security Committee said.
