Zenit Saint Petersburg's Hulk injured during game
MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Sport-Ekspress/Interfax) - Brazil's Hulk, a striker for Zenit Saint Petersburg, was injured toward the end of the first match with Rostov as part of the Russian national championship on Friday evening.
Hulk left the field, holding on to his thigh. It was unclear how serious the injury was.
Hulk and Belgian Axel Witsel joined Zenit during the summer transfer window. Both moved over from Portuguese clubs, Hulk arriving from Porto and Witsel from Lisbon's Benfica.
Hulk is the Russian Premier League's most expensive player - his transfer cost 60 million euro.
The arrival of Hulk and Witsel in Zenit sparked a conflict in the club. Midfielder Igor Denisov presented Zenit's management with an ultimatum, demanding a revision of his contract, after which he was moved into the club's reserve. He complained later that Hulk and Witsel, who were new to Zenit, were earning much more than he did.
On Thursday, Denisov backed down and was returned into the first 11. However, he was on the reserve bench when Friday's game started.
