Bryansk governor to appeal court's voiding of his election registration (Part 2)
BRYANSK. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Bryansk Governor Nikolai Denin will appeal the regional court's order canceling his registration as a candidate in the October 14 gubernatorial election at the Supreme Court.
"The appeal will be lodged as soon as we obtain the court ruling," he told Interfax.
Denin presumes the decision was made under pressure. "The prosecutor agreed with the opinion of the regional elections commission. I may only suspect what pressure the judge has experienced and what corruptive strings have been pulled," he said.
It was reported earlier that the Bryansk Regional Court ruled on Friday to cancel the regional elections commission's decision to register incumbent governor Nikolai Denin as a candidate in gubernatorial elections set for October 14.
