AFK Sistema considering 3 scenarios for return on investment in Freight One - paper
MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - AFK Sistema (RTS: AFKS) is considering three scenarios for return on investment in OJSC Freight One Company, in which it might acquire a blocking stake from OJSC Russian Railways (RTS: RZHD) (RZD) if it wins the tender.
Investments could be recovered "through growth in asset value, through dividend receipts, as well as the possible monetization of the stake through its placement to an interested circle of investors," the newspaper Kommersant reported on Friday with reference to Sistema.
Sistema's board of directors has given it the green light to participate in the tender for the Freight One stake, the newspaper wrote.
Seventy-five percent minus two shares in Freight One currently belong to Vladimir Lisin's LLC Independent Transport Company (ITC), which will compete against Sistema in the tender slated for mid-October.
