Plan to form Customs Union's joint logistics operator to be defined by year end - Shuvalov
RUSSKY ISLAND, Vladivostok. Sept 7 (Interfax) - The structure and timeframe for establishing a joint logistics operator by Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will be defined by the end of the year, Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov told reporters in the corridors of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit on Russky Island on Friday.
"We will discuss this issue in December, if the leaders meet," he said adding that various schemes are being considered and that the final decision is to be made by the end of the year.
Reports said earlier that the Russian, Belarusian and Kazakh prime ministers met in June to discuss a scheme for forming a joint logistics operator for the Customs Union.
Russia is weighing plans to put a 50% stake in TransContainer into this company.
