Polish car production climbs 53% to above 100,000 units in April -research firm
WARSAW. MAY 9. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - Car production in Poland rose
53% year-on-year (y/y) to an all-time high of 102,200 units in April,
market research firm Samar said in a release Friday.
Since the beginning of the year, production has climbed 32% y/y to
370,191 vehicles.
In April, production of passenger cars rose 52.8% to 88,706 units and
production of utility vehicles was up nearly 56% to 13,538 units.
After the first four months of the year, Italian car maker Fiat
maintained its leadership on the passenger car production market with a
32.8% y/y increase to 153,624 units, ahead of General Motor's German
subsidiary Opel, which noted production up 25.3% to 77,492.
German VW remained the largest maker on the utility vehicles market with
22.4% y/y production growth to 38,183 units.
