Ukrainian nationalists, pro-Russian activists exchange blows inSevastopol
SEVASTOPOL. May 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Fighting broke out between
members of pro-Russian groups and the Ukrainian nationalist UNA-UNSO,
after more than a dozen members of the organization held a rally near
the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Feet in Sevastopol, Russian
Navy spokesman Captain First Class Igor Dygalo told the press on Sunday.
"Activists from pro-Russian organizations, including the Russian
Block, and Crimean Cossacks arrived at the scene, which sparked a
scuffle between the sides," Dygalo said.
"Ukrainian regular police and a Berkut riot police force hurried to
the area, pushed the nationalists into a police wagon and drove off," he
said.
Fifty police remain at the Black Sea Fleet headquarters, Dygalo
said.
A naval parade was held in Sevastopol on Sunday, to mark the 225th
anniversary of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
